RE: Integration with Gallery2 & displayed in lightbox
Hello, callingrohit, and welcome to the forum!
As I personally don't have any any experience with Gallery 2, and I don't know how it works in terms of file structure, I can't really say whether or not it can or can't. This should be easily determined though. If the URL changes when you click on a photo (even an anchor change should work), then it is most likely possible. You can take a look at a the tutorial I wrote for dynamic links, or try the "Arbitrary ID" add-on which makes things easier. If the URL doesn't change at all, then it probably isn't possible, unless you know a little bit of php and some of the variables from the Gallery 2 script. As for lightbox, though it may require some changes to lightbox itself, it should be possible. A good idea might be wrapping the comments box into a hidden DIV element, and then modifying part of lightbox so that the comments section is moved into lightbox via javascript. After I looked at an example of Gallery 2, I can say that it is quite possible and probably simple to implement. . If you run into trouble with lightbox and javascript, I might work on a solution. I'm giving you three guesses... |

RE: Integration with Gallery2 & displayed in lightbox
Thanks for your reply static.
Yeah I had seen that tutorial for Dynamic Links but wasn't quite sure if it will work for a dynamic website with SEO friendly URLs enabled. Will it work with SEO friendly URLs ? Each photo will have its own section of comments - display of old ones and addition of new ones. Will this scenario work ? For display in lightbox, I will be providing another link to click beneath the photograph which will then be wrapped in a lightbox div. Thanks for providing your guidance. |

RE: Integration with Gallery2 & displayed in lightbox
Sorry, I've been really busy lately. You will need to visit each page and insert the script manually in each one (eg. http://www.example.com/gallery/v/picture.jpg.html). You will also either have to rename each html page to php, or make it so that the html pages parse as php pages. Unless you know of a different way to do it from within the script, I can't suggest anything else. Stephen might, but he hasn't been online for a while now. I don't understand what you plan on doing with lightbox though. I'll provide an example that works with lightbox soon. I'm still busy at the moment, so it might take a while. Sorry for the delay...
I'm giving you three guesses... |
