Trouble conecting to database

I have followed all the instructions as they were not very difficult however when I try to run the installation program I get the error message.

Sorry, there is a database connection problem.

I have checked the database name is correct. I have checked my username and password is correct in the connect.php file. I left the host name as $mysql_host = "localhost";

Could this be causing the problem?

Any help appreciated?

Hello

i have sorted the problem and it was in fact the hostname. I contacted my host provider and they told me what the name should be.

So this thread is closed but anyone else getting the same problem may need to contact their hosting company.
